Hello there, newbie to the forums :):! First off I'd like to commend all of you excellent photographers, I've browsed around and am truly in awe. I'm particular towards the bird photo's, kudos!

However all of my own personal "best" shots are generally of horses, so I thought I'd start a post up and share. Feel free to show your own if you have any as well :D!

:D Sorry for the bombardment, but I thought I'd "introduce" myself photographically so to speak!

Hello Atomic wave.gif and welcome to Dgrin.

I'm kinda partial to horses myself. Nice set of shots you posted, some interesting compositions and all very sharp. clap.gif

Since you asked heres a couple shots of my horse (Dutch) and I.

My wife took this of Dutch and I on the cross country course:

No way you do eventing?! That's awesome! That's what I'm training my current horse for.. he's a 7 year old Morgan/TB, the bay in the photo's (besides the one with the single star). I must ask, what level do you compete at and what are Dutch's stats? He's an absolutely gorgeous animal, and I'm envious of your riding style, quite effective.

For the sake of this post, I'll post a few more pictures :D.

    Welcome atomicjade!

Great intro with those pics. You'll fit right in here. There are a couple other horse lovers here, Lynnsite has a lot of spectacular horse shots you should check out. Hope to see more from ya.

Aww thank you everyone for your warm welcomes :D! I am very glad to be here surrounded by such talented and experienced photographers, there's only gain to be made it seems. I'm totally lost when it comes to technical stuff with camera's, I have a P/S digital (Minolta DiMAGE Z1, love it but wanting something better :):) SO I'm hoping I'll learn some stuff about that while I'm here as well! Even so, I'm happy just viewing all of your gorgeous photographs.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
