Of the ones you've posted, I'd say I like Pelicans the best. Having said that, and knowing full well there is a strong line in the image, I don't know if it speaks loudly enough to the theme.

Thank you for the feed-back. Do you guys think that I should crop out the negative space on the pelicans shot, to fit better the theme?

I think it looks fine, look at the samples sherstone provided in the link in the entry thread again to compare.

I also like the hats, but I like the pelicans more. I think it's quite strong on theme.

    Thank you. :)

I looked at Sean's examples in the first few ours after the theme was launched and I couldn't stop looking... wonderful images of a great photographic talent.

However, I don't really think that our photos should be copies of what Sean has produced. There is an infinite way to show angles or shapes in photography, and there are as many artistic interpretations as there are photographers.

I like the shots in your first post, The Girders and Marina, for this assignment. Your photos are great, and you have a very fun and vibrant style that that tends to push the angles and shapes to background elements in the others. Panama Canal works for me in the second batch.

I like the pelicans as well for it's visual simplicity. With that said though, I also like the marina (which is quite the opposite) in that it has a lot going on. I like the lines and angles leading to the boy. It has a good balance of colors too and tells a story. GP

    Thank you very much everybody.

I like best the pelicans and the boy too.
While the pelicans are more common as subject and an easier catch, the boy yes, tells a story and is more elaborated - so I entered the boy :)

However this is a very exiting theme and I also took a lot of architecture shots that I'd like to show you in a separate post :)
