I always go out right when it gets cold to get me in the cold mode for the rest of the season. Sort of get's me used to it. :thumb

Ohhhhhhhh Yup.......that looks cold to me, and we don't even get frost where I live, I couldn't tell you the last time I even remember seeing frost.
I actually thought you were showing us an IR Shot when your image first opened Chris.......would that kind of ice build up happen in just one day? or does it take longer than that? eek7.gif great shot ....... Skippy (Australia)

That looks insane. I have never seen ice like that before. Obviously I can't say I have been cold then. Makes me glad it's almost summer here:D

I just found out that my grandson, oldest, he goes to school "there".

I have requested that we all go there from Charlotte, as a family, at Thanksgiving. Will never happen, I am sure!

Don't they close those roads at some point?

Very nice, all of them, but I especially like the feel of the first.

Is it ALREADY that cold up there???
One year we went up to the tower on top of Mt Mitchell during the first of part of Nov and it was so cold ice formed on moustaches just from breathing......insane, but insanely beautiful up there....You sure captured the feel of it nicely, I've got chills already.

The second shot is awesome! I'm dreading winter though... I hate the cold. But great shots!

Mt. Mitchell is the goal of one of the toughest one-day 100-mile cycling events this country has to offer. It is not a race. It is appropriately called "The Assault on Mt. Mitchell."

I've never seen what it looks like. Now I know. Looks dreadful. Thanks for posting this.
