Another Portrait/Head shot session

A friend of mine who is majoring in Dance and business asked me to take some photos for him. He has helped me in the past on some of my projects, so I returned the favor.

Hackbone

1-2-4-5-6 seem to have distortion due to lens choice. Wide angles should not be used close up. Colors seem a little flat try raising up the black point some and #3 has some big color issues unless that was the effect you were going for. Try not to look up a persons nose when doing a portrait its just not very flattering to a subject. Hope that helps.

He has put on some lotion earlier which gives it that distortion. We tried to remove it, but couldn't really get the lotion off. #3 was my choice to give it a yesteryear look

Justin,

The distortion Hackbone is referring to has noting to do with lotion. It has to do with the lenses focal length. Try shooting with a 50mm or 85mm lens next time.

I also agree with not shooting up. Personally I am not wild about the background. I think a different type and color background would be a better choice. You have a dark or brown skinned person against a brown / yellow background. Rather than pop out he blends in a little.
