Is this better. I looked and looked til I found one w/o a post. Barely acceptable, but it is acceptable so I worked it up for those who were bothered by the post sticking up almost in the middle of the other photo.

I liked the boat in the other one and the placement of the boy more. The bird is still there in this photo. I sure wish I had had that bird. I am getting all egrets, some tri herons, but no Great Blues.

ginger (Nice of him to wear red!)

    Ginger,
There is a blue heron living in the reeds and grasses in my backyard, but man, are they hard to actually get a photo of. Maybe in the spring I'll set up with a tripod, camera, a few sandwiches and a cooler of yuengling. BEEE VEWWWY VEWWY QWWYYEETT

Yeah, Ben, we will do a pair, so to speak! I am glad you like both of them!!

Cool Snookman! re Heron in your yard. When they had babies at a wildlife place I go to with a large wildlife rookery, the birds were more "tied down" with their children. But now those birds can fly, fly away!

I just see fewer Herons in general, so if I miss shooting one, there aren't more to take his place. With egrets, I usually have another one...........but not always.

I wonder how an egret protects himself. The other birds seem to be colored for protection, the egret stands out just beautifully.

Thanks again, for stopping and commenting.

I definitley like it better without the pole. thumb.gif The only think I might do extra is to add a little contrast with a curves layer.
