Private Images

We have a gallery of images that are being found on Google. I went into smugmug and changed the gallery settings and they continued to appear in google. Changing the settings didn't work I then deleted the gallery completely from smugmug and then submitted image removal requests to Google. With the gallery deleted and the image removals completed by google the images continue to show up on google search. I contacted Google and they said that the issue had to do with my website. What do you recommend, I'm a little concerned that my private images are still being found on the web? The client is livid and I need to get the images removed ASAP. What do you suggest?

If a gallery is private or password protected from the get-go, you won't have this problem. Once google or facebook has copies of your images on their servers, it can take quite a bit of time before they are removed.

Glad I was some help. I have all of my galleries private, so I know how much of a pain this can be!
