My fave shot from 2011...

It's been a while. I haven't posted here for a while and a lot's happened since. I'd like to think that my photography's gotten better since the last time I posted anything here.

Anyway, here's my fave shot from last year. It's from the Sporting KC-Chivas USA match at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park on July 9, 2011. Sporting KC defender Aurelien Collin and Chivas USA forward Justin Braun are battling for the ball.

At the next game, I gave Aurelien a print of the photo and after I went back up to the press box, I saw him carrying it with him to take it home with him. :barb

Well, I guess I should have actually asked for comments if I wanted some, huh...

C&C not only welcome, but desired, actually...

Yep! This image seems slightly underexposed. What ISO did you use? Maybe dodging the faces 10% or so would help bring out the facial detail. Just a suggestion...

I think it is a fabulous sports shot. It epitomizes the struggle, the desperation/determination, the athleticism, the pent up power in the two players. I think your timing is great and tack sharp. Interesting difference in the crowd on left versus right! Left are right into it and following the game with interest whilst the right are heading off to get beers! Love it.
My opinion does not necessarily make it true. What you do with my opinion is entirely up to you.

1/1000 sec. at ISO 400. That part of the field was in the shade. Maybe I'll mess with it a little bit later...
