Enchanting stuff. I would love to make it to Zion some day myself(along with a hundred other destinations in the U.S.!). These make a great study in black and white. Think I'm leaning towards number 4 as my fav though. I like how that curved leading-line runs from the bottom left, continues through the outcrop, and then the bright cloud brings the eye back down from the upper right(that's my story and I'm sticking to it). The similarity in the left hand surface textures and the clouds are great, too. Just to show my complete ignorance, would it have been cold there this time of year? I seem to recall seeing Zion under snow before but I could(probably!) be confusing it with some other part of the U.S.

Thank you Crokey. #4 is actually my favorite by quite a bit....I had thought about just posting it by itself.

It was about 52 degrees the day I was there. Some years Zion can get a lot of snow but this year we are having a dry, warm winter. The park spans a large elevation range too so while the West, low end of the park may be dry, the Eastern high end of the park as well as the rim of the canyons may be covered in snow.

Very nice series! My intuition tells me one can't do without the beautiful colors - but your capture of the shapes and textures defies that.
