Hi all,

I don't get over to this forum very often, but all those fall colors got me out yesterday afternoon to try and capture some. I'd love your feedback on these since I don't shoot many landscapes.

Lovely, deep rich colors. I love barn shots, and those yellows are so dramatic against the dark sky and barn. I really like the first shot. The second is nice, but the first is really good. clap.gif

However, I do wonder about a slightly different angle on the first - a bit more of the side of the barn (hmmm, having trouble explaining - I wonder if it was possible to shoot toward the corner of the barn - does that make any sense?). As well, I wonder if the horizon line could be more interesting.

Thanks for your input Ann. Do you mean shooting more from right to left? And would you just crop most of the sky out or add more contrast?

    Thanks,

Wow! I love the top image just as is. You've really captured the beauty and the composition and angle to capture the fence adds depth to the image. Did you do any saturation adjustments on this, or is this as is? What state is this in? Makes me want to travel! clap.gif

Thank you, I'm glad you liked the shots. I took these in Washoe Valley, Nevada which is between Reno and Carson City.

To bring out the colors I used the new RAW converter RS/P and turned up the Vibrance a bit. Then in Photoshop I converted them to LAB color, tweeked the a and b curves by 10% and a little contrast adjustment to the L channel.

    Thanks again,

REALLY like the first one. The contrast on the barn is excellent, and the overall composition is just very nice. A keeper -- frame it ;-)

2nd one is nice as well... but doesn't send me the way the first one does. The "dark chocolate" color of the barn, along with the yellow of the trees... very very nice photo.
