I have started the epic task of digitizing many of my families old film pictures, and though I would share some of the interesting shots as my family has been to a lot of interesting places. These are some of the pictures from our time in Nepal (where I was born) from 1981-1986. These have been digitized off of Kodachrome slides using a Plustek 7600i scanner. Very little editing has been done on these pictures (I may have adjusted curves and some color cast on a couple of them).

I am sorry I can't post more details about where each picture was taken. I have to go through at some point with my parents and try to figure that out.

Can't believe some of these photos. The second one would be my favorite just for the simplicity of it, it's more representative of the textures of the farmland than of any subject in particular, and it's got really great lighting with the shaded hills in the center pulling the eye in.clap.gifclap The kodachrome color and the the borders should look quaint but lots of people are trying to copy it digitally these days! Not sure if that's actually a good thing, it's a bit like an author writing a book on papyrus to make it feel quainter

I can tell you for sure that the last image is of Boudanath Stupa in Kathmandu Valley. It's hard to say about the others, but looks like Annapurna region.

Great to see these, thanks! I'd love to go there, but how do you survive the cold?!

I agree. It is kind of fun to play around with some of the old film and negatives as I have honestly only ever really used digital. I can definitly see some of the "styling" in other peoples work these days.

    Cold?
Lol, well i guess it does get cold up in the mountains. Hearing about the lady who crossed antactica on foot makes me think of cold a lot more though.
