Still Learning! I'm I on track??

Still learning how to use my camera, and trying to figure out the effects of each setting in manual mode, external flash, ect.. Here are a few learning shots I took today around the house.. .. Still do not have a photo editing software other than the free Windows Live and the Canon provided so I did the best I could with what I had....Light Room 3 was ordered today :thumb so I am looking forward to seeing what it can do.

Doesn't look like you need much in the way of editing software. Then again, I'm a bit of the "get it right off the camera," crowd.

Awful lot of yellow in the images. That is usually due to the white balance being off.
The color temperature needs to be brought down. Perhaps the Canon program
doesn't allow this adjustment. Lightroom does.

The subject choices are good. That Spanish Bayonet spike should have been
pushed away, and the dog isn't in focus, but you seem to have an eye for what
is photographable.
