Hoped for a GBH, got a Masked Bandit
Today seemed like a good day try to get a shot of one of the several Great Blue Herons currently in residence. Naturally, what showed up on our drive was a raccoon. ( This one did not get the memo about chewing with your mouth closed.) Well, you take what you can get! :dunno All comments welcome and appreciated. Best, Pam

I'm sure Harry will love these.
Thanks, Ric. It is kind of sad when you have Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Great Blue Herons, and Roseate Spoonbills, and who knows what other beautiful birds around, and the only decent photo you get is a raccoon! Oh well, today is another day! Best, Pam

Thank you! I looked at your website, and love the leopard cuddling on his back, looking just like he would like to have his stomach rubbed--so deceptive! Best, Pam
Thanks, Shawn. I just looked at your website. Your bird photos are terrific. I loved the hawk flying from left to right in your home page slideshow. Those BG colors are so beautiful! Best, Pam

Thanks! I'm sure skunks are the next to show up!
Thanks, Chris. We usually see them at night or just at dusk too. It does look like this one was getting cranky, but I promise it was just the way he chewed! Mouth open with food inside, as fast as he could work his little jaws. He did look like he was baring his teeth in attack mode when the camera caught the moment, but he was just a really messy chewer. It was really funny to watch!
#2 & #4 look like he/she have their karate hands in action.
thanks for sharing.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Then again... don't get them here, so the garbage is safe...
Thanks, Pete. I do think this raccoon would have karat chopped anyone who tried to take its food away for sure.
Thanks, Korandoke! I appreciate the comment.
Thank you, Lucas. We were lucky that the raccoon was so focused on its food that it wasn't paying much attention to us.
NO KIDDING!!!!!! Thanks, Harry!
Lindiwe, you can enjoy these photos more than those of us in the US, because they have never 1) strewn your garbage all of your yard, if not your neighborhood, or 2) flipped your pet fish out of your fish pond and then eaten them all, or 3) attacked your pet dog, or any one of a number of other definitely pest-like activities! Thanks for the comment!
