I have not been around the challenges much because I have been busy chasing ducks
Trying to narrow down entries for a couple competitions. Would like input on what your top 3 picks would be out of shots below. Not so much technical but just which 3 shots grab your attention the best.

I would order them 3, 5, 2. Would probably like 2 more than 5 except (at least on my cheap work monitor) parts of 2 in the water look a little washed out. Nice shots!

2 for me, with an additional thin crop off the bottom. Great angle and composition on that one.
For me...flying shots have more impact coming toward rather than going away.

Now 4 has so much potential for a poster....she is screaming at him and he is "whatever"....that is a poster shot with an appropriate witty comment underneath.

I really like #2, #4 and #3 in that order. While #1 and #5 are very nice I have seen and taken those shots many times. I really love the soft but still sharp feel of #2. Really beautiful shot IMO thumb.gif

How nice to have too many good ones to choose from!

My preferences are #1, #5, then #3. I might would have chosen #3 as the top pick except that I really wish the one bird's entire wing was visible at the bottom of the frame. (That's minor, I know, but kept it from being 'perfect' to me). Love the colors in #1.

    Good Luck,
    Sherry

Thank you all for the input. It has helped tremendously 3 and 5 were my favorites but was torn on the third. 1 will probably make it just because of the subject matter and the rarity of the getting that flock shot of Green Wing Teal #2 might go in this challenge as a down low shot still getting the mud off my camera.
Thanks again this forum group is the great

I see you've already had input and made your decision, but I just want to say 1,3 and 5 are my faves too, so I hope that reinforces your thoughts :)

3,4 and 5 in that order. I really like 4 for the obvious humor in it. Wish there was a way to separate the ducks from the background...but hey, their ducks in the wild and are suppose to blend in a little!

I really like #1 - the synchronized wing positions, the angle of the birds, and the sun on their feathers. It just seems the most unique.

I love the colors in #2. A different crop might make it more interesting - how about cropping to the 2 male who appear to be vying for the one female - a story of a feathery love triangle?

#3 is beautiful, sharp, and classic. As awesome as it is it's a shot that people have seen before so for a contest I'm not sure it would feel fresh even tho it looks great.
