Interesting idea- not keen on the result simply because I don't like large OOF areas in front of the in focus subject. Might be better the other way round with the rose behind the white flower

Thanks for the feedback. This was an exercise in using DOF and perspective to draw the eye of the viewer away from what would normally be the more dominant element.

The goal was to allow the white flower to be the subject of the scene even though the rose was clearly distinguishable in the foreground. In order to do this I figured the white flower had to be peeking out from behind the more dominant rose. As in... "the wallflower".

Maybe it didn't convey that sense after all.

Seemed to work the other way round for me- my eye kept on being drawn away from the white flower to the OOF rose.

Good use of dof , but agree with Brian, oof flower too distracting , would work with loads of smaller flowers better!
