I took a trip through the Tennessee Aquarium again last weekend. It is a great opportunity to experience shooting at ISO 1600, as the light level is very low. If you like Aquariums, this is a great place to spend an afternoon.
The Aquarium is built of red brick like most of the older buidings in downtown Chattanooga. Brick is a typical construction material in ante-bellum buildings in the Pre-War South.
The Invertebrates are in the lower levels and very dim it is.
f2.2 1/50th ISO 1600
f3.2 1/80th ISO 1600
In addition to fish, they have lizards. salamanders, butterflies and birds. I did not see any mammals, but there may be some otters in the riverine exhibits.
f2.5 1/160th ISO 1600
f2.5 1/800th ISO 1600
And of course, they have lots of fish, both fresh and salt water.
f2.5 1/125th ISO 1600
f2.5 1/160th ISO 1600
f2.5 1/100th ISO 1600
f2.2 1/125th ISO 1600
All shot with Canon's 85mm f1.8 - I think the 1002.8 Macro would be a great lens for this venue also.

I love going to aquariums but my Sony S70 and S707 do MUCH better than my Sony 828...
I don't like using high ISOs on my Sony on sheer principal of the idea that I might want to make an enlargement sometime! I haven't been able to get rid of the noise in a satisfactory manor for that kind of enlargement.
Web stuff I can live with the noise --
But it's so much fun taking pictures of fish and critters who would ordinarily never stand still for you isn't it?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Thanks for commenting Dee. Shooting fish in a glass barrel is loads of fun!!
