I am new at this game and ordered a

Vivitar Macro Extension Tube Set (Set of 3) for Canon EF

For my Canon 100mm lens, Is this going to be a good match up??

I am new at this hobby
I bought my first digital Rebel T3
Also have a 70-250mm lens
I did not recieve my macro lens yet
I was told I am going to have trouble with depth of field
I would like try my hands at taking pictures of insects, coins etc.
I welcome all feedback and need it badly. The extension kit and macro lens is on the way
Hi to all from N.E.Pa.

welcome to the forum, you will do great with ex tubes on a 100mm, you will eventually need to use flash as higher mag shooting , a standard flash gun off camera with a diffuser will work fine.
just get used to shooting with 100 mm first, and see how shallow dof actually is! lol
post a few pics asap so we can give you help in the right dirrection.

Welcome. I was the 'new kid' last month. This is THE most challenging genre of photography I've ever tried! You'll find the moderator and other members of this group really helpful. There is just SO much to learn - I figure I'll go to my grave saying "one more, just one more...and I'll finally get it right."
Creating visual and verbal images that resonate with you.
