Uploads from Lightroom not working

I'm unable to publish from Lightroom today to my SmugMug gallery. The upload log on SM shows lots of "upload problem: incomplete file" errors.

I tried uploading to another gallery just using the default SM uploader and was 1-for-2. Had the same error in the SM upload log.

Something broken right now? That SM status page shows "all green".

    Hi Jay,

The status page is correct. Nothing is broken :)

I would start by making sure you have the most updated version of the Lightroom plugin: http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/121321

Are you uploading with a wireless internet connection? If so please try connecting directly into your router/modem and see if that helps.

Do you run any sort of anti virus software? If so, please let us know which one.

Also, with the incomplete file errors, we do ask that you run a couple of tests. These will allow us to see what might be causing your uploading problems. Please send us the test results via email. help.smugmug.com

Try these instructions to run a traceroute on a PC:

    http://smugmug.assistly.com/customer/portal/articles/92187-uploading-traceroute-pc-to-smug

That will help us see if and where any problems may be.

Go here and click "Begin Test"

    http://upload.smugmug.com/test/line-quality/

After the test completes, click on "share result" and click on the "copy" button. Then paste the resultant link into your email reply to us.

If you have any questions or problems, please let us know.

    Cheers,

    I'm on 1.0.1.7. I'll try updating it.

Yes, I'm on a wireless connection. I'm not seeing any issues with the router right now.

    Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 v12.0.0.374

    Hi Jay,

I am going to close your email that I have.

Kaspersky 2012 has been blocking uploads using our browser uploaders and Lightroom. I have tested this myself, and came up the changes you will need to make in order to allow uploads.

    For the browser uploader:

    1. Select settings on Kaspersky

    2. Under Web 'Anti-Virus section' click on settings.

    See this screen grab: http://screencast.com/t/6WIZkcbnh

    3. Under Web 'Anti-Virus section' select the 'Trusted URL's' tab, then 'Add'

    See this screen grab: http://screencast.com/t/5J7Uqc8xR

    4. Enter in '*.smugmug.com', the 'OK' on the 'Trusted URLs' tab, then 'OK' on the 'Settings' panel.

    See this screen grab: http://screencast.com/t/y1iaQbwh

    5. Press 'Apply' on the 'Settings' panel.

    See this screen grab: http://screencast.com/t/eOhhss7XXp

    6. Press 'OK' on the 'Settings' panel.

    See this screen grab: http://screencast.com/t/s9b4OIJoz5a

When trying to upload via Lightroom and using Kaspersky 2012

    1) Select 'Settings' on Kaspersky
    See this screen grab: http://screencast.com/t/j9XXsgQgU

    2) Under the 'Applications Control' section click on 'Applications'.
    See this screen grab: http://screencast.com/t/WthAmZOq5M

    3) Locate Lightroom in the list. Right-click on Lightroom and make sure it's in the 'Trusted' group. Then select 'Applications Rules'.
    See this screen grab: http://screencast.com/t/XkPhq4Go

    4) On the 'Application Rules' panel select the 'Exclusions' tab. Select both 'Do not monitor application activity' & 'Do not inherit restrictions from the parent process (application)'. Press 'ok', then 'ok' on the 'Applications' panel, then 'Apply'.
    See this screen grab: http://screencast.com/t/6Wvph9Dedw

If you have any questions or problems, please let us know.

Updating the plug-in (to 1.0.2.19) seems to have done the trick. I was able to upload a photo via LR publish to SM now.

If I run into any more issues uploading, I'll try the settings adjustments you recommended.

    Thanks, Nick.
