So these are more normal portraits. What do you think? Is the processing OK? Too grainy? Any nits? Any non-nit critiques? What about the fonts?

i like the idea, but in looking at thousands of album covers in my life, i tend to find a trend small or not in most. i would say, if you're gonna blur it, blut it well. if you're not, make it sharp. maybe a shot straight on into the trumpet with the you playing it, blurred or not. just a thought. cheers!

I like #4. It's dynamic in both motion and lighting, sharp and the title is simple and fitting. Very nice.

Thanks for the feedback! I really had fun shooting these. It is always interesting to me which ones appeal to people.

jberenba, I am not sure what you mean by " i tend to find a trend small or not in most".

I like 4 best. For me, the contrast is preferable to the camera motion in 1,2 and 3.

I really like #4. I would try cropping out about an inch of the left side to lose the edge of the piano and create a nice smooth line of the piano across the bottom. I would also do the title in all caps with the font and size you used for "Just Playing" and place it top right or left.

    Just some ideas :)

I love the energy of the shot!! thumb.gif

Of these, I like #4 but agree that it would be nice to have a bit more light on the keys & maybe crop the bottom a bit. I think I prefer your "Circling the Drain" shot from your other thread - I would agree that a reshoot might be in order to touch up the spots on the faucet, & maybe play with positioning or trying to hide the camera, but I like the subtle SP there, & could also see some fun pp with that idea, like the words or something swirling down the drain.

Many thanks for the suggestions, Chris, Jeromy, and Lillian. I actually really like circling the drain, but won't be able to get a reshoot until Monday, if then. I will play with the crop a bit on #4 and try a reshoot with more light on the keys. Of these, #4 is my favorite, so it is good to get confirmation.

I also have a couple of other ideas I hope to shoot this weekend.
