ouch just got bit by the new pricing/packages

in the new pricing system, it dosen't show up that your customers can buy packages. I had set one up a long time ago with old pricing but as no one had used it, I had forgotten that it even existed. well someone just saved about 40 dollars by noticing that my package deal was way better than my individual picture prices. cry:cry

i'm also still not pleased with the new pricing setup. why do I have to click so many times for a system that was supposed to be making it easier for me? was the old one that bad? the tabbed system was much easier than the line by line system there is now. not sure who thought that would be easier but they are wrong!:scratch:scratch:scratch

also the system of us putting in our profit and then seeing the end price is goofy to me too. I would rather enter the final price and then have my profit figured... kind of like how it used to be too.

I don't usually have so much trouble with change. I never whine about how facebook does this or that and usually appreciate how things get changed to make the experience easier or better looking but this new pricing system does neither IMO

You should have posted this in the New Price Lists thread where the rest of us have been complaining about this crap...

I understand that you're frustrated with someone purchasing a Package on your site for less than you wanted them to but the feature worked exactly how it is meant to. Your customer was able to buy a package of prints for less than a la carte, which is what that feature is made for.

You still have a package setup on your site. If you'd like to remove it can access your Packages in your Control Panel>Pros tab.

When in Pricelists you can click on the header that says "Products" and it will auto expand all items in that product category for you so you do not need to click as much.

Thanks for the rest of your input on Pricelists, we are listening to everything that you have to say and appreciate you taking the time to tell us how you feel about the new layout of Pricelists.

when you choose products, it still gives you a list that you have to click, click, click through. man what a total waste of your time. I can't believe that you spent money on this. If I had some employee who had taken a paycheck for this and then turned out that result I would be upset (the nice word for it) I do know how to change package pricing. that is what I did. I changed all my prices for some galleries this year but since the package was so old and no one had used it before, I forgot that it existed. nowhere on the pricing site does it indicate that packages are available but apparantly, when my customers go to buy pictures it showed up enabling one of them to save a bundle.

I know that smugmug is all about the photographers and I'm sure that all of the other sites are struggling with issues but really, who came up with this brainstorm? what was so wrong with the old system that required an overhaul? and what about the new look that we have been promised for almost a year?

WHAT I AS A PAYING CUSTOMER OF SMUGMUG WOULD LIKE TO SEE: is an interface that makes it easier for my customers to buy my photos. nothing more or less. stop spending time on the back end and spend time on the front end. also the mobile version is crap. I have disabled it from my site. who wants their customers to see an alphabetical listing of galleries and then not even be able to buy them? MORE USELESS JUNK and wasted time!

I have yet to transition to the new pricing plan, but your comments have me worried for sure. I hate clicking this and that, and it sounds like it's now going to be click overdrive. :cry I just have to say: Keyboard>Mouse. 101+keys>handful of buttons and a ball.

I hope this isn't as painful for me as it has been for you. But if it is, I'll be right there with you.
