Problem with posting images on Blogger

Hello all,
I apologize for repeating myself but I thought I had received a solution when, in fact, it was a matter of sheer luck.
I'm wondering if anybody else is experiencing this problem:
1. I am using Windows 7 and Google Chrome (browser).
2. I want to post images on Blogger (using the picture icon in the editor).
3. I go to Smugmug and click Share > Get a link > and then the "Copy" button near "Medium".
4. I then go to Blogger and "Via URL" (in photo editor) and paste the direct URL link to my photo.
5. I get an error on Blogger saying it's unable to read the link.
Oddly, this only happens with, for example, the third image. I thought perhaps it was a Blogger issue, but then I went to Safari and was able to handle this request. I have yet to try it on Firefox.
Just wondering if anybody else posts images to Blogger and if they have problems OR if not...what is your workflow (I'll try anything to get this to work...well, almost anything. )
Thanks for any help.

From what you describe ("in photo editor"), Blogger may expect a direct photo link. In that case, you may not be able to use the link from the "embeddable links" tab, but would need to use a direct "photo link" instead.
This is just a guess as I'm not familiar with Blogger.

Yes, if I paste the link directly into the browser bar, I do see a photo.
The link which I'm attempting to use is the "Photo Link" (the first tab when I do Share > Get a Link). In the past, it has worked without a hitch. And, oddly enough, it does work with the first or second image. If I go back to it later on and try, it works fine for that image, but perhaps not the fourth. I don't see any recognizable pattern. At first I thought it was just Blogger, but when I've tried it with Safari (for Windows) or IE 9, it works okay. So that is what is making me think there is something going on between Smugmug and Google Chrome.
This all happened after, oh about a week ago... when I noticed that when I went to Share > Get a Link... some of the "Copy" buttons (again, from the Photo Link tab) were missing. I'd refresh the browser and then those buttons would appear only to have OTHER buttons disappear. I spoke with a Smugmug hero (via live chat) and it was suggested that I clear the cache. I did that and that seemed to help THAT problem...but now this new one has come up.
Again, I appreciate your help very much...thank you!

Specifically, exactly, what link what photo isn't working?

Well, there is really no specific image or gallery.
I create cards (greeting cards) and I have them in various categories (thank you, get well, etc.) Sometimes it's an image from "Thank you", sometimes from "Get Well"...sometimes, from "Happy Birthday". I wish there was a rhyme or reason...but I've yet to find one.

I need to see an image that isn't working for you. When you have one, post a link.

I created a test blog post and was able to insert eight (8) images successfully. I tried from different galleries. I used the little arrows (under the image I wanted) to navigate. They were all done in "Medium" size.
When I tried (on a lark) to choose a "Large" image, it failed. Here is the image I attempted:

Here's the error I got:

It could also be the browser not submitting the form correctly somehow messing up the url being submitted, and if it works fine in another browser, then this is definitely one source of the issue.

Yes, I was starting to think it was a browser issue and that is why it was my hope that, by coming here, I would see if anybody else had an issue with Chrome (just to confirm my suspicions).

I've tried it on Chrome, Safari, and IE 9. All get errors.
However, when I try it with an image that is NOT from my Smugmug gallery (just some image from the web), I get no error.
Which leads me to believe that it is NOT Blogger, but something with Smugmug and/or my gallery.
This is very frustrating, as I really do like Smugmug and most of my photos are here and I don't want to have to start over with another gallery type service.
I guess I'll try once again to contact Smugmug support and see if they can help.

I'm actually now using HTML...I'm using the blogger interface. I click the small "picture" icon. Then I choose "By URL"...and then I enter the link I got by my smugmug gallery -
Share > Get a Link
I'm not actually coding with the HTML, as I don't know how to do that.

I just looked at your site, and I was in one gallery where the largest size available is Medium. If you're pointing at a large image make sure the gallery is set to display large images.

Re: size allowance - I checked the gallery to where I was pointing (Papercrafting/Cardmaking/Miscellaneous-Cards) and I looked at the gallery setting. I saw it was set to "Original" (viewing). Is that not a good setting?
Thanks again!

Are you sure that you pasted in the complete link and that it's not somehow shortened at the end or modified in some other way by a line break resulting in a space?
What's important in the gallery settings is that you've set it to 'external links' yes, but that's the case for the two links you posted in this thread.
The 'largest size' setting only controls what photo size is available for viewing. If you have it set to original, visitors to your gallery can access and download the full size original with the 'save photo' button. If you don't want that, make sure to select any other largest size than original.

It's possible that perhaps it's shortened on the end, but I've checked a few times and the link appears to be fully intact.
I think the issue may be on Blogger's end and perhaps when I pasted a non-smugmug image, I just lucked out? As I've said, there is no rhyme nor reason to when it is success and/or when it fails.
I'm in the process of trying Wordpress instead of Blogger, as I'm really not happy with their level of support (translated: none. )
Ryan W (a great SmugMug hero) mentioned that Wordpress even has a SmugMug add-in, so that may be even more beneficial.
