"With reflections you become too soon a genius." -- Ernst Haas.

Having said that, I like! thumb.gif

Ernst Haas wasn't always right, Jennifer, even though he was a good photographer. It's a fine shot. Reminds me of some of Vivian Maier's work. I pulled it down and looked at it in B&W. I can't quite decide, but I tend toward the B&W version. Good seeing!

I don't know about genius, but you can get some cool shots. I like the two figures from the back next to the "two" from the front. I'm not so sure the clock tower adds anything, but I suppose it will be a landmark to those who recognize it. Nice work.

I see that with copy around it as a magazine cover of some variety. thumb.gif

Very nice shot. I really like this one. Stillness in the midst of motion is contrast that often works for me, especially with that resolute expression on her face. That building makes a great backdrop as well.

Oh, I look at that quote bass-ackward. I see it as "put in a reflection at any and all costs. People will think you are SMART."

I desperately want people to think I am smart. headscratch.gif

The clock tower is an interesting addition. It adds a sense of time to the image. Her pose suggests she is waiting for something. The reflection further draws attention to the subject. Color versus B&W is probably a personal taste preference in this one. I prefer the way the photographer likes it best.

in all, I enjoy this photograph for its sense of place and time.
Please feel free to post any reworks you do of my images. Crop, skew, munge, edit, share.

I did a b&w version at the same time as the colour. It's in the WiP 2012 gallery. It was a close call, but I preferred the colour for a number of reasons. A side theme I've been working on is how to capture Flinders Street Station in as "not a cliche" way as possible. Every tourist in the universe that visits Melbourne will take a shot of the place. This is going to join that set. Thanks for the feedback.
