I love the effect. Which ringflash are you using.

Other than that, I might crop closer to get rid of the arms in space look but she's super cute and her expression is terrific.

Nothing about your photo...attractive woman, nice photo.
However, I think I must be the only photog out there that thinks the catch lights from ring lights are creepy/weird.

Very nice overall. Lovely girl and, as John said, a great expression. I think your DOF is too shallow though. Part of the eyebrow is in focus and part oof. I think you'd have had just as nice softness had you shot at f/4 or so instead of f/2, as close as you were. Just a minor nit on an otherwise very pleasing shot.

Just curious, what did ringflash get you here that natural light would not? Other than the catchlights which I also find a little bit too much.

Regarding the ringflash catch lights - I love them and I am a big fan of them. I loved to have a ringflash but the light can be overpowering from those ones from Profoto and Bowens, so I have been looking on the Internet for any alternatives. I found a German company which does bigger diameter ringflash as a constant light - great for beauty and macro work, as well video. The bulb is a fluorescent light - daylight. It has a tripod mount and what is even more important it is very price attractive - £160 with shipment from Germany. They do it for the EU and USA market 220V and 110V. So, that is my ringflash.

The photo here was just a test the hardware. The shallow depth of field is to see how low can I go with my aperture with this light using Canon 85mm f1.2

I'm with the rest of the gang -- not a big fan of these catch lights. I think because this ring flash is even bigger than the profoto size, the catch lights are even weirder. Plus, by being so big you now have an incredibly soft light on an already flat lighting style. Seems bland to me.

I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like when shooting full-length shots, but I don't care for it for a beauty or headshot like here.
