More Black And White / Sepia Conversions

Playing around trying to find the "perfect" conversion has become quite a bit of fun. These are four different looks and I would be interested in which look is your favorite. I'm leaning toward number one, but I'm not quite sure if it's because the lighting is a bit more dramatic or it's the conversion itself.

    #1 is most pleasing shot.

To find out which treatment is preferred, take #1 and do the four treatments on it to compare. Cannot compare with different shots and not have the differences affect the treatment judgements.

I'd go with #1 and #2 is nice too. 3 & 4 seem a bit green on my un-calibrated monitor which is something only to be felt when you've had a bit too much.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but thanks much Mr. Charles.

I do believe you hit the nail on the head with what was bothering me about three and four. Thanks for pointing that out!!!!!!

    I like #1 a LOT. I don't care for #3 and #4 at all.

Care to share your process flow you had for #1?

Sure, believe it or not, that was the easiest of all. Sometimes simple is better!

    Made a layer

Converted to Black and White with the Black and White option under adjustments. Applied green filter.

Then, in curves applied linear contrast. Added a bit more black point and upped mid range. Then added a warming filter located in Adjustments/photo filter.

Last but not least added a feathered black vignette and a touch of warming filter one more time.

Sounds a lot more involved in print that it really is.
