Ahoy!

I took a series of 4 images down Mathew Street, Liverpool, L2 which means nothing to most people, but it's where the original Cavern Club was located and The Beatles were discovered aka 'The Fab Four'. . I suspect the penny has dropped by now. I've also tagged on a fisheye taken with a Sony A700 + Samyang 8mm MC f/3.5. The Mathew Street shots were taken with a Sony A700 + Sigma AF 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 Macro + HVL-F42 external flash. All RAW images were subsequently pp'd with Sony's proprierty Image Data Suite and finished off in CS5 (I used a B&W pro plugin which I had on a 30 day trial as I'm useless at that sort of thing), with the exception on the Wheel of Liverpool fisheye which I tried pp'ing myself. I Hope you like.

The original Cavern Club has long since gone, but this is another version of it which bears the same name.

Note the brickwork. Everyone that has played at this venue has had their name or group name engraved into the bricks. Much easier to see at a larger size.

I have a 'corrected' version of this image which straightens the vertical wall line.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed them. I don't 'do street' togging as my passion is aviation, so for any aviation buffs, you can take a peek at some of my aircraft images here.

My favorite shot in the series is the wheel. Fisheyes seem to always do visually pleasing things to complex architecture like that. Lennon's Bar is also a top impression.
Please feel free to post any reworks you do of my images. Crop, skew, munge, edit, share.
