Ok, I put a couple up there. Not sure if "epic" was meant to indicate "environmental" rather than close up portraits, but that was my interpretation. It was really hard to limit it to two!

Just curious, where would winners of challenges be listed? I don't see any listed for this contest.

    Winners!
    #1
What a pretty sky... add to that your stellar composition, and this is not "just another silhouette photo!" Bravo!

    #2 Qarik
Love this photo! My eyes keep exploring this way and that in your photo, and something keeps me coming back to it.
I really love it, but a couple things kept this out of the 1st place position: Your skin tones seem a touch hot (and this is ME saying that... haha) and then there is a bit of sign poking out of the left of the frame. But this photo is gorgeous. Love that TS work, and your location is so interesting.

#3 Love the colors and the view. All we need is some woodland creatures and this would look like this could be in a Beatrix Potter book.

There were some really pretty images...the wine cellar, that winding lakeside walk; but I was sure that Jeffrey had it nailed shut with that gorgeous b & white kiss shot.

Can definitely not predict these things....This is my first "first", and the challenges and judges critiques have played a big part in helping me to become a better photographer; so thanks to Heather and all the other stellar photographers who continue to help us all to develop a trained eye.

I've p.m.'d Sphynge (Caroline) in response to her message about the next topic, so look forward to seeing the March entries!

Actually it is an absolutely stunning image.... Probably the main reason I didn't choose it is that it has already placed in another contest here on Dgrin. I wanted to give other photographers a chance. That image is a Mary Poppins... it is practically perfect in most every way.

The planets were in alignment that day! It's still MY epic e-shot.mwink.gif

    Congrats to the winnersthumb.gif

My fave is the runner up. I like the tilt shift.....but I'd crop out the rest of that sign.

    Great choices Heather!!!

Congrats to the winners. The silhouette is everything Heather described. And I love #3 as well - for the light and the composition.

Laughing.gif, too funny, almost dead on (although i like your picture more, the sky is amazing in yours, was pretty dark day when i went), but yeah I got a lot of great engagement shots at Thatcher park.
