Wonderful scene. Great job on the PP work. Looks like it could be an old master's painting. A closeup of the old lady would have been a real plus.

    Well done.thumb.gif

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thanks Don. Yes, it's HDR and the texture is one I downloaded as part of a free texture pack. It's part of my Ancient China Series.

Thank you Tom! I have a close up of the lady from a different angle but she was not happy that I was taking pictures and refused to chop when I got close.

Don, I'm currently shooting on the K10D but I think I will be upgrading soon. How do you like the K7?

I like the K7, but some of the newer models with higher ISO , etc, may be a better buy, unless you are looking to get second hand stuff.

I have a K10D, but don't shoot it anymore. Just keep it for backup.

Honestly, in the past 2 years I feel a lot of the cameras out there including Pentax, Canon and Nikon have become very cheap in structure. This is the main reason I'm still using the K10D and I'm hesitant to upgrade. I think the K7 housing is still sturdy and rugged. I'm willing to give up megapixels and ISO for a well built camera.

The blotches in the sky pretty much kill the image for me.

Yeah, as a straight landscape/architectural shot... maybe so. But this has a painterly rendering to it and I think it stands fine on its own merits!

The blotches are part of the texture and an overall theme to the entire gallery I posted below.

Your entire Ancient Gallery is beautiful. Lovely processing techniques.

I used a K-7 for lots of traveling by motorcycle. It had more than 20,000 clicks before I got a K-5. The k-7/k-5 body has held up to all of the abuse with no problems.
