Ah, to be a New Yorker with all those rich sources of photographic opportunity. To share in the Giant's
celebration, I'd have to pay about $100 to get into DisneyWorld.

Love the processing in #2...kind of postcard style from the 1950s. The view might be the same as
the tickertape parade in September, 1954, that honored the New York Giants when they won the
National League Pennant. (For the readers that live on the other side of the pond, the NY Giants
honored were a baseball team. The team now calls San Francisco home.)

    Thanks Tony,
That's exactly what I was going for and yes living here is a dream for photography!

Now I can't wait until they have a ticker tape parade for the real heroes, I will even take a day off from work just for that!

That first is awesome, really really, awesome!!!! Crosswalks, crowds, worms falling from the sky, and the verticals the building...

I would try every processing technique available to you and see what you like best. Then go win a contest with it! (I am envious!rolleyes1.gif) And post it in Street & PJ...

I really like the first two. Love the processing on the second. If it were b/w i would wonder if it was from 1945. Still...appreciate the photos, a great celebration and honor! They could go in a LIFE magazine (once upon a time anyway)....

Nice series. The last one with the hand is my favorite. Great colours, nice unexpected angle and good feeling of depth.

thank you Eia--that's exactly what I had in mind for #2 (that old feel of the parades of yore).
I am practicing for when we have the parades for the real heroes. Hope it's soon:)

Has anyone thought about the fact that "tickertape" no longer exists?
A stock ticker that uses yellow tape is a museum object. The "tickertape"
of today is paper run through a shredder, but we don't call it a "shredder
    parade".

Note that the "tickertape" in Liz's last photo are strips of shredded
    documents.

Yes the first one is awesome! The roadway on the right does not seem to add anything to the image ,I would consider cropping it out.

I also think #4 is a great shot as well.
