smugshot frozen

Hello,

I've been wanting to upload video from my iphone 4s to my smugmug account. Reading forums, it seems like my best/only option is smugshot. I just downloaded smugshot from the app store, logged in to my smugmug account, and could see my list of galleries. So far, so good. I changed the default gallery to my video gallery. Then I browsed my photo roll and found a video to upload. I tapped "choose", to presumably start the upload. The progress bar said, "compressing video". The phone eventually went to sleep. When I woke it up, smugshot is frozen on the screen that has the video, with "cancel", "play", and "choose" buttons at the bottom. "Cancel" and "choose" are greyed out. I can still play the video, interestingly. But I have no indication that anything else is happening. And I can't get out of this screen. So, it seems like I'm completely stuck. Any ideas?

I put my voice in with those who just want a simple way to upload short iphone videos to my smugmug account. There has to be a way to do this! please please? :-)

Thanks!

-J

Any photo/video I take I pick "use" "upload". This puts it in the queue. You have to go there and
click "upload" at the top if it's in pause mode.

For any photo/video in an album open SmugShot and go to the photo/video in the album and pick "upload".
Then click cancel at the top to return to SmugShot. Look in the queue for it/them and click "upload".

    Thanks for your reply, Al.

Smugshot was frozen in a state where I couldn't hit "cancel" or get to any other screen. My guess is this happened because the phone went to sleep while it was processing a video? Anyway, I uninstalled and then re-installed the app, and now I'm able to upload videos using the method you describe.

Is there a video quality difference between uploading a previously-shot video, compared to shooting a video from within smugshot? It seems like it does NOT upload the HD version of videos that were previously shot, while it DOES upload HD versions of videos shot in smugshot. Is that right?

Maybe Apple downsizes the videos taken on the phone? You know, they think that's best for you.

I've uploaded existing 1080p videos from my iPhone 4S to Youtube (using the Send to YouTube link in the camera roll) and Vimeo (using the official Vimeo app) and they stayed 1080p. The same video uploaded with SmugShot changed to 720p, so I'm assuming it was the SmugShot app that did the recompressing.
