In my home town of Fort Bragg CA there is a little train company that operates a few stream powered trains. The oldest one, built in 1919, is steam engine number 45. Long ago it was dubbed the Skunk train as you could smell it before you could see it due to the old steam motor. The motor has since been updated to a newer steam powered engine but the name still remains the same.

The train takes tourists (mostly) into the heart of the redwoods on a three and 1/2 hour trip. Nice scenery and good times for all.

Great subject eric. I found your shots a little dark but my monitor could be out. Sad part is that i remember those as a kid. We didnt go to town much but i can still remember stopping to let one past on one particular day.
