Cradle Mountain - Tasmania

Hi, the fresh snow on the upper slopes of Cradle Mountain in Tasmania proves that it can snow at any time of the year - even in January - the height of summer !! The next day my wife and I hiked up to Marions Look-Out (the skyline directly above the boat shed) for a better view of Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake. Needless to say the weather was so bad (Strong wind / low cloud / horizontal sleet) the camera stayed in the rucksac all day. Better luck next time!

Thanks for looking in - C&C always appreciated.

Cheers, Richard.

Nice shot Richard, I like the lighting in this a lot, how the boat shed is spot lit with the immediate ridge behind it in shadow and then the far slopes in light again. Great feeling of depth. I would just try and darken the top corners, especially the the top right as it is the brightest part. It's great how much effort lens makers put into removing vignetting from there lenses only for us to put it back in later on!

Very nice, Richard. I really appreciate your continual efforts in showing us your corner of the world.
    Keep up the good work.

    Take care,

    Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Hi Tom, One of the main reasons that I enjoy the Dgrin forum is that we get to see places that we might not travel to ourselves. I'm glad you like my Australian input - appreciate your comments.

    Cheers, Richard.
