I just had to share this... it's probably the best night shot I've ever taken!

Wonderful shot. I'm not familiar with San Diego, this looks totally enchanting, like something from bladerunner. I'm not sure if it was an aesthetic choice during pp, but when I looked at the large version it seems oddly devoid of detail, very graphic looking like it's been computer generated(I know it's not!).

It is a beautiful cityscape. Congrats, Lisa! I think I see what Colin is saying, perhaps you were a bit aggressive with noise reduction? It's still a beautiful shot though.

Yeah...seems very splotchy when you look at the original...did you use in camera noise reduction? I usually shut that off when shooting night stuff. If not it could be caused by the processing too. Less is more with night shots :)

Thanks for the feed back.... I'll revisit my processing. I did use some noise reduction when I played with this... perhaps I went too far.

Congratulations, that is really awesome. Night shots are a blast. I love the clouds, they look sinister to me. I take shots of downtown SD every so often and I like this one better than mine :) I think Crokey nailed it with the bladerunner reference. Yeah I really like this. Don't worry about the noise reduction. I'm sure you'll find some settings that you are happy with. Good luck.
