Took some shots under the 660m long Tologa Bay Wharf - trying with different processing as while like the colour for the vanishing point, prefer black & white for the close columns. Also playing round with different processing - like the Grundge but not sure if bit overprocessed?

#1 Colour

#2 Desaturated

#3 Grundge

I wonder what #3 would look like if there were no color at all? My favorite of these is the first one....

I like #1 but maybe bring the sky highlights/brightness a little lower, just try to find some more definition in the sky maybe?. I'm also kinda liking #3 but i would let the color come out in the water on both sides too... ?? fwiw

Would you happen to have a photo from the edge of the water? I would prevent clutter in the foreground. :D

I like #1. I would try cropping it just a bit so you don't get the debris on the bottom.

I like #1 as well, especially the oranges of the seaweed I guess it is at the bottom? I like the "idea" of #3 but here 's what I'm noticing. White lines, or halos around the edge of the pillars and too much noise between the large pillars in the sky. If you cleaned that up it could have a sort of abandoned look to it but I'm still thinking I'm partial to #1.

I like #1 but I think I would like it more if there was more color in the picture. Really bring out the color in the water etc. But I love high contrast/clarity pictures so #3 is my favorite. I do agree with a previous comment that I would like to see #3 in all B&W.

Thanks for the comments - realised the sky was a problem but taking to uniform grey/rain, weather was not being co-operative! In #3 was trying bring out but realised be overprocessing. Below is a shot taken down at the waters edge, taken from very low angle - is this better?

Holy cow - this is some bridge! I like this new version #4, (freaky) but I still really like the first #1 too (with the lower debris cropped out) because I love the beauty of that pastel water lighting the end. GP

I really like number 4, many details to look at.

One of my favorite things about the challenges, is seeing so many parts of the world through creative photography. Voting this challenge will be difficult.

Have cropped #1 to take out the debris at the front, plus so no sky at the side. Agree that like the colour of the water (why did not want to make b & w in the original set).

Troy - agree the challenges are great in seeing so many parts of the world, and in this case was a good excuse for me to finally go and see the Tologa Bay Wharf. Have started a thread in Landscapes of some other shots took on the day (just not sure how to insert a link in this thread to it!).

(Link to thread - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=215546 - hopefully will work)

Something is not exactly right here... The top of image is way too heavy and overwhelming... headscratch.gif

I like 4. It's heavy all over and not competing withthe pastel sky.

I love 4 and 5... but 5 makes me what to run into the water! Love that color.
