I took some pictures at my daughter's daycare class Valentine's Day party yesterday for the parents. Apparently, some of them have found the pics which is good.

I basically said 2 ways to get the pictures - download the file or order prints if you don't want to download the file. My question is does Smug allow you to track which pictures and been downloaded legally from the site? Really more for my knowledge, so just curious. I would assume if it is added to the cart and then bulk downloaded it would show as a $0 sale, but I could be wrong.

Nope. One choice is to enable originals, which lets them download for free but cannot be tracked. The second choice is to enable digital downloads, which costs them a minimum of 50 cents each (all of that goes to Smugmug, none to you). Recently Smugmug set a new minimum price on digital downloads (50 cents) and takes all of that for themselves. That means you can sell a 4x6 cheaper than you can sell a download.

WOW - was unaware of the pricing for downloads. I'll have to remember that.
