Winter is my favorite time of the year along this coastline. Here are some recent photos from Big Sur I took on the same day, both before and after work.

** Updated image. I brighten the last one slightly. Still undecided if I like the darker, moodier one (above) more:

Thanks guys, the last one was taken at Garrapta. These Winter blooms are always a great reminder of things to come. Spring arrives early to many parts of California. So its literally just around the corner.

Here is one more form the same evening:

    Thanks for your input guys.

I brightened the last a bit. See update above. Not sure which I like more since I am still trying to convey stormy mood.

I had no idea such beautiful lilies just bloomed on their own around there this time of year. The last one is dramatic and gorgeous.

I like the updated image the best, still moody enough but my eye travels wonderfully down the lily path. Oh and if that is winter you are one lucky dog-Ha Ha!!!

Thanks Schmoo, this is Garrapata which you are not too far from in SF. You should check out one year in February. Somerimes they bloom into March as well. It really is a breathtaking sight the first time you see them covering thus little coastal valley, especially with the waves crashing in the background.
