OK. RoundFlash is a new ring flash adapter, but not like anything else on the market today. Huge and collapsible. The first time I saw it, I was like... Really? The flash can illuminate this thing evenly? It can. The are some reflectors and baffles inside that take care of it. This this is "pretty cool" on my list :)

Hmmm...how heavy is it...I notice you are tripod mounted...Is it hand Holdable with ease or is it too cumbersome???

it's quite holdable. very lightweight actually. Half the weight of the RayFlash.

I think I want one! Was thinking about a ray flash. This is better for me. 3 different bodies, 3 different flashes, not so hot for ray flash. This thing would cover all of them. It is small and unbreakable too for shoving in a bag. Thanks for posting this photogreen!

You are welcome :) The only thing I'm still not sure about is how long it's gonna last for :). Since it's a new product, there is no real feedback yet. It's looks well built though.

Looks like it completely blocks the IR view port of the Flash, which means you don't get ETTL or focus assist. I wonder if the reason you didnt see reduction in power from the 580EX is because it was shooting at max power, thinking it was in complete darkness from the sensor.

At least those other devices allow for the flash IR port to be exposed.

it does block auto-focus assist beam (same as RayFlash), but ETTL works just fine. and the power is reduced significantly compared to the bare flash.

My bad, I actually meant the wireless flash control, not ETTL.

remote flashes are controlled by the light from the head not IR port. not being able to control remote flashes is only subject to the light-of-sight in this case (the range is reduced of course)

I find with really bounced light the Nikon CLS works really well. I think this thing would do a great job of spreading that signal around indoors.
