The latest Dgrin Challenge is "Vanishing Point", and though that the Tologa Bay Wharf at 660m long would have some good "Vanishing Points". Used as a good excuse for finally making the day trip to see (Tologa Bay is 300km from home). Unfortunately, the weather was not co-operative, but still got some shots:

#1 Sign about the Wharf, built in the 1920's to aid the transportation of goods from the East Coast of the North Island, NZ. Sadly, it is not only the Wharf that is in need of repair.

#2 At 660m long, the Wharf is the longest open water Concrete Wharf in the Southern Hemisphere

#3 View of Tologa Bay from the Wharf

#4 View down the Wharf. Trains were used to transport the goods down the Wharf to the waiting ships

#5 & #6 Two views from underneath the Wharf

Am looking to get a set of filters so can take long exposure shots of water. Will need to go back on a fine day, as a shot under the Wharf with misted water would make a great picture.

I've seen umpteen wharfs in my lifetime. Never have I sen one that is so apparently stout. That last shot is my favorite, followed by # 4. Nice work.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.
