New issue with Crop Thumbnail

Not sure when this started happening, but it would be within the last 2-3 weeks (since the last time I uploaded)...

Go into Crop Thumbnail and select 1:1 Crop Ratio. Instead of showing the largest 1:1 crop that fits the photo dimensions like it used to, it is extending the height beyond the actual photo size to make it 1:1 with whatever the photo width is.

If you start to adjust the crop from the corner, it jumps back down to within the photo.

Oh, while you are in there fixing this bug, can we PLEASE, please, please get some way to control the default crop ratio? If nothing else, at least set it to 1:1 for galleries that are configured to use square thumbnails.

I've been asking for this ever since square thumbnails was added as a gallery option.

Thanks,
Jay

Minor edit: the crop box is going 1:1 based on whatever the longest side is, not just width

Issue doesn't seem to be browser related. It is happening in FF 3.6 and IE 9.

This bug is really annoying and slows down thumbnail editing dramatically...
