I met up with a few other pro photographers today from my area - and we journeyed into the heart of flugistan :uhoh and I didn't even have a proper visa :eek1

Well, the light bailed on us but I managed to salvage a couple shots.

    Thanks 'labs - 6seconds @f/13. iso 100. I used a 10-stop neutral density filter on a Canon 35L prime. Tripod, remote, MLU.

Updated, exif on #1 and I geo-located the pics in SmugMaps. This last part isn't easy, The Flugistan government is very secretive about this sort of stuff.

Nicely done, Andy! Thanks for the EXIF info. I am puzzled by this shot. The upper falls seem like less than a 2sec exposure, and the lower pool looked closer to 6 sec. I was going to ask if this was a composite of two differently exposed shots.

Must be the disparity in the velocity of the flowing water. Anyway, you came out with a truly unique looking waterfall shot. Particularly since it was only one exposure!clap.gif

I grew up near Bear Mountain and still have fond memories of hiking there.

Very nice work Andy. That's a great waterfall. And some great fall colors. I checked the map. Nice country out that way. I'm going to put it on my must see list. icon10.gif

    Hey Andy,

Very nice...I recently picked up one of these filters for my 17-40/10-22. Gotta say I am pretty impressed with the results so far.

    Cheers,

Well, he knew I was coming to Flugistan, but not exactly today. We tried for coffee a week ago but the darn Flugiastanian rain kept me away. Today, was hush-hush, as I didn't have a Visa, or any proper documentation. And you know how tough those border guards are, eh? lol3.gif
