Around the World - Google API?

Hi
I have my page sandraankadomwolf.smugmug.com set up so I can have Around the World on a seperate page, menu item Maps. When I try to open it, it says:
(No worries - your visitors won't see this until you enable it.) To flaunt your photos on Google Maps, get a free key from Google (it only takes a second) for http://sandraankadomwolf.smugmug.com and paste it here.
The link leads to http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html - and that's where it gets confusing. If I get it right, it says I don't need an API key any more, but since SM wants me to enter one, I got one on https://code.google.com/apis/console, for http://sandraankadomwolf.smugmug.com
Snipsnap from Google:
Simple API Access
Use API keys to identify your project when you do not need to access user data. Learn more
Key for browser apps (with referers)
API key:
AIzaSyCXHQwZhLN2QWDayShgHKGJyX3VHjPEgbc
Referers:

But when I'm trying to enter this key on my maps page, nothing seems to happen, after Submit it only jumps back to my Homepage, and nothing seems to be different. Jumping back to Maps leads to the same message than before.
I can't find a key stored in my Control panel either.
Not sure where the problem lies. It seems SM just ignores my API key entry.
Can you please help? I'm really keen to get a map like on moonshinephotography.com - Find, but the map only. I guess this is what Around the world would look like anyway, I haven't managed to get it going obviously, so I'm just guessing this is what it would look like.
Cheers
Wolfgang

Google have changed their api and our maps page hasn't been updated yet (this change happened in the last couple of days). I used a workaround to get an api key for you and the "map this" button is now on your homepage and the feature is now enabled.
The "map" button in your navbar isn't directing to the correct place, it is going to the screen which asks for the api key. You will have to change this. You can ask for help on how to do this in the customisation section.
I must admit I'm not sure I understand what you did. You said the map button in my navbar directs to the wrong page. Right now it directs to /map . Where should it direct to to get the Around the World map? Actually, when I click on Map in my navbar, I get the Around the World headline (and then the message to enter the API key), so I was assuming it directs to the right page?
What I'm trying to get is a map like on http://www.moonriverphotography.com/find , but the map only. I'm not trying to direct to a map as on http://maps.smugmug.com/?feedType=geoUser&Data=sandraankadomwolf, this would mean I'm leaving my site, and my head banner and navbar would be gone.
The Map This button worked before, but it also directs to http://maps.smugmug.com/?feedType=geoUser&Data=sandraankadomwolf

Yes, looks like the map link is working properly, but just have to enter in a Google Maps API key. You can find instructions on creating the API key here:

The map on Andy's site is the same around the world map that can be clicked on. I'm not aware of a way to disable the click through to maps.smugmug.com . You could ask on the customization forum if anyone knows if and how this might be done.
To get a find page like on Andy's site, take a look at this tutorial:

My issue is that I got an API key, and I got one again following the directions in your link, but entering the key into http://sandraankadomwolf.smugmug.com/map doesn't seem to have an effect. It would just ask for the key again, and again, etc. Never a map.
I don't think I messed with CSS or javascript, I deleted all customization, still the same. Also I used another browser, (Firefox rather than Safari, on a Mac), still the same.
Not sure what to try. For me it seems something is messed up in SM, on the other hand if that was the case there would be others with the same problem.
