The new camera demanded some time in the field so I headed up to the Rockport area Monday to see what I could find. Headed to Halibut Point and then into town for a while. Here are a few from the day.

#1 Rocks along Halibut Point

We may have no snow this winter and it's much warmer than normal but at 30 deg F and a 20+ MPH wind it still felt like my hands were going to fall off.

#2 Looking north towards Plum Island

#3 Rockport Harbor in Winter

Others can be found here...

Thanks for looking. All C&C appreciated.

Great series, Tom. I love #2; the water is just soft enough to add contrast to the jagged rocks but I still get the since of its power. What new camera are you working with?

Nice work, Tom. There's good composition in all the shots. The harbor scene is my favorite....a beautiful rendering indeed.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

I'm working with the Pentax K-5 now. I've got to get used to a camera with low noise. I can routinely work with ISO 800-1600 without issue. I know it's not a big deal, but I'm used to a camera where anything above ISO 200 would show significant noise.

I shoot at Rockport, Halibut Point and Plum island quite regular. Some of my favorite places to keep revisiting! thumb.gif

    Excellent series. clap.gif

Thanks, Bryan. I've liked shooting images with boulders in the foreground, especially if I can pull some color out of the rocks.

Nice set Tom, I'm with the pack in picking the Harbor shot. Love the color pallet, the subtle reflections in the water and composition.
