Spent the day at the race track. First time for me. Did some betting and broke even so not a bad day I guess. Had a few beers and grabbed a few shots. This isn't my thing but thought a couple were decent enough to share.

Feedback always welcome.

A good day all 'round if you broke even :)

#2 and #3 are excellent - you caught that 'moment of suspension' in the horse's galloping stride. Plus, they are well exposed and crisp. Nice!

Thanks guys. I don't shoot this type of thing so I'm pretty happy with these. Notice all the camera rigs along the track with the pocket wizards.

    Here is one more:

    Wonderful pictures...
What f stop where you using. I assume that you were using a long lens from the great background blur.
I have been asked to take some photos of a friend who jumps horses.
    Thanks for your advice.

I used my Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR1. The first and last photos were shot at f/2.8. Second and third shot at f/4.

Thanks. I would have thought that 2.8 would have been to narrow. Being the horse is so big I guess because of your distance it works?

    Yes... because of the distance.
