The last few months have kept me closer to home than I normally am. Rough, but it's given me a chance to discover and rediscover some worthwhile areas within 15-20 miles of the pad.

    Really like the first shot. Great light giving very nice colors in the rocks.

    Thank you Hawkeye, Eia, Lauren, Sparky. I went brash on the sky selection on the first--but I wanted something way-way over the top. The 30 second exposure on the rocks brought out all kinds of goodies and neat little features. The second one I would have liked to get more of a mermaid look to it, although I'm really happy about it without doing the work I figured I had to do.

    This place is so close to my house. I'm shocked and and slightly embarrassed that I didn't make it out there sooner. There's a lot around here though being so close to the mountains. There's a real geological diversity.

    Thanks Michael. It has built up so much around the area I live the 25 years I've lived here, it's been too easy to ignore the pretty spots that remain.
