    very nice Harry, In the pic with the Night Heron you are using a 300f4 with a 1.7 . TC. I thought you could only auto focus on this lens with the 1.4 TC. Am I wrong , or are you using manual focus?

    You can AF using the 1.7 and 2.0 TCs with f/4 lenses. I've found that the D3s does better than the D300 and D3 in those situations. The AF is definitely slower and it has failed in some low contrast situations. One of the reasons I've pre-ordered the D4 is that it will AF better with TCs.
