I haven’t posted in some time as I’ve not been active with the camera for a while. There was a break in the clouds this morning and I got out to shoot at Green Cay in Del Ray Beach, FL. This American bittern seemed to want to pose for me. Photo info: Canon 30D, Canon 100/400 @ 100mm, f/7, 1/1000, ISO 400
This is not the greatest background, but these guys are usually well hidden in the plants. Please feel free to offer suggestions and constructive criticism as I am certainly in a learning mode.

Good capture Darrell. American bitterns are a hard capture because they blend in so well with the vegetation. I was shooting one last week and every time I took my eyes off the viewfinder it took me a while to relocate the bittern.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
