Funny how your eye likes different shots everytime you look through a shoot .

Loved the series the first time through. You really get dancers, Mike. Really love the processing on these. Like them all, but really love the first two. The muscles in the first one are really amazingly defined!!!

AMAZING work Zoomer. How do you possibly light to get that kind of muscle definition?

One small thing that bothers me is her ribcage in # 1. I honestly would have smoothed that a bit, but that's highly subjective.

She's also pretty cute. My only problem with this set is it makes me tired just to watch her.

You sure did miss some wowzers! That first one is the best of this whole set, I think (I certainly remember them too). Such a fabulous group of pictures of a stunning model. You really do "get" dancers!!

Same light I always use. 1 sb800 with a 42" softbox. From extreme angle above and image left.

John, smooth out those beautiful muscles???.....I could never do that .

Mike, what is creating the two sets of shadows, then? There appears to be a harder set and a softer set. Do you have some window light or other diffuse light about 2 stops down going on?

Proximity to the background affects shadow density.
Just the one light.

Beautiful. I gotta say though: I usually can see how someone lights a relatively simple shot like this. But I don't get how you did this with one light, particularly one light set in the same place for all three shots. Her face is lit in all 3 shots, even though it's facing different direction in 1&2 than in 3. I guess I've got some playing to do to try to do something similar. Great work.

Really...it was with one light, relatively high iso lots of ambient and almost wide open.
Then some subtle processing.
For the face I did some soft clone brighten 20% with skin from her arm.
Then dodge burn to even out some of the light and shadow.

Absolutely splendid pics of a stunning model.
Only photography related observation would be the shadow across leg in #3.

Otherwise, they make me wonder if she is satisfied about her own performance in these pics (not the pics themselves) ie are there things / postures that she thinks could have been done better .. eg spead of fingers (RH) in #3.

I printed that first one off large and it did come our really nice. May actually make the wall.....I need more wall.
