Took this shot of a Heron on one of our local Park ponds.

C&C are very much welcome.

Great timing on the shot caught the bird in an interesting position. Lighting is dark on the bird and the color seems a bit over saturated.

Fantastic photo of the Heron in flight. Dealing with proper bird names may be impossible, and you wisely avoided the problem. Most likely it's a Great Blue Heron, among a variety of potential candidates. None of the other Herons have been dubbed "great". I am easily confused on this subject, hesitant to be wrong. We can at least rule out the Great Egret, which is white. But Egrets come in other colors as well.

Nice capture of a great blue heron but over saturated for my taste.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I agree, nice shot of a GBH, but too much saturation applied.

What a mess with all the herons... we think this is a black heron, although it shows as blue to me :confused

Did anybody ever find a good reference?
