10 Years Ago..... Some Perspective

The Canon EOS 1D was just 6 months old - 4.1 MP - and if you had to ask "How much?" you couldn't afford it. DPR gave it a "Highly Recommended" in spite of a banding problem at ISO800.

The 1Ds was still 6 months away.

The 10D was still a year away.

The 5D wouldn't be made for nearly 3 1/2 years.

Nikon just released the D100.

Nikon's 5.3 Mp 1Dx just had its first birthday, The D2h was more than a year away.

The 5.3 Mp Olympus E-1 wouldn't exist for another year.

I just wanted to put things into perspective for those that are critical of the new offerings. We have come a long ways in a decade. An amazing ways.

Slightly surprised there's no mention of Canon D30 ...considering what it represented ...
Yes, we're spoilt for choice now ... but (some) still whine on :)
