Hi, the fastest shearer in the team is referred to as the 'Gun' shearer, so I guess his hand-piece could be his 'Gun'. This one is a standard 'wide comb' hand-piece. Australia was the last country in the world to accept them in 1984. I wouldn't want to guess how many sheep have been shorn using this one.

Thanks for looking in, C&C always appreciated.

Very interesting, Richard....and a nice shot as well. I'm assuming that this is electric powered and that the long tube is a conduit for the power cord.

    Take care,

    Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Hi Tom, thanks for looking in and your comment - always good to hear from you. I was trying to work out how to explain how the hand-piece is connected - the motor above the shearer is electric and powers a rotating rod inside the tube which connects to the hand-piece. Try You Tube 'Sheep Shearing Made Simple' to see how it fits together :D

    Cheers, Richard.

Hi Rob, thanks for looking in and your comment. Natural light coming in through a window and a long exposure. There was a cool room off to one side - every time the motor kicked in the wooden floor would vibrate - ruined a lot of shots !

    Cheers, Richard.
