Jwffrey's smugmug plugin

Does any one know if there is an easy way to convert from the lightroom smugmug plugin to Jeffrey's smugmug plugin, without having to republish everything. I want to do this because with Jeffrey's plugin you can set it to not republish every time the metadata changes and I really need to be able to do this. I don't see any way to make this happen with the standard plugin.

Thanks
Carson

    G'day Carson,

This is a feature that I could most probably add...just want to get some information behind your workflow and the reason why you don't want it to update metadata on Smugmug ?

    Cheers,

A lot of times I make changes to keywords, flags, etc for a specific purpose and there is not reason to publish them to smugmug, there are mostly for organizational purposes or for a specific export and it gets to be a pain to have to publish them to sumgmug for no reason. Whenever I see images to re-publish I usually do it to be sure I haven't made changes to the image. It would be nice to be able to select which metadata that would require a re-publish and which didn't like Jeffrey's plugin has. My previous post was incorrect, I haven't found a way to add Jeffrey's without republishing so I'm sticking with yours, but this would be a really nice feature to have.

ok, I'll add it to my list of features to add.

btw, if you are planning on upgrading to LR4, they now allow you to reset the internal flag for republishing...

Thanks David, I have lightroom 4 and that is a nice feature but I get doing a lot of things at one time and I'm not always sure why an image shows up as needing to be re published unless I take a really close look and that takes time. It would be nice to just be able to check off what if any metadata I want to cause a republish and leave those that I don't want to unchecked.

    Thanks

The auto-republish is one reason I concluded I absolutely cannot use any auto-publishing tool in Lightroom. I simply can't afford an unintended and mammoth reupload just because I did some additional categorizing in Lightroom to help me organize stuff locally. I don't have a particularly fast upload pipe (about 800kbps up) and some of my uploads can take 1/2 a day or longer and the whole time they are uploading they slow down regular internet access too. So, I need to control what and when things are uploaded.

I actually love the auto re-publish, it really helps keep track of what I need to publish/re-publish, but I would like some control over what triggers it.

This goes for Jeffrey's Plugin, too and all others.

In the lower part of the Publish Settings, Jeffrey lets you specify what Metadata will trigger a Republish Request and which wont. In in latest versions, under Edit Settings... For LR4.0

In LR 3.6 on can still go to Under File/Plug-in Extras/SmugMug Extras, and do Remark and Published.

Nothing in Lightroom will automatically start an upload for you. The issue being discussed here is that LR will mark it as ready to be re-published when you change any of the metadata. You still have to go in and hit the button to actually start that upload (or as devbobo's screen shot shows, mark it as up to date which removes it from the re-publish)
