Wow that is something else. Is it a refugee from nearby park? Any story behind it?

Thanks for looking and commenting. There is no nearby park. closest are miles away. This spot has been undergoing demolition to clean it up and remove an old rail trestle next to it, part of which I'm standing under in the first image. It is a rather enclosed cul-de-sac, so it is puzzling that the swan found this small bit of water at all.

Pity the 2012 Veolia Wildlife photog of yr comp has closed ... there might have been some mileage in the 'Urban wildlife' category here, methinks?
